The Full Story

Low cost of operation and a fantastic workforce.

We spent a lot of time searching the world and studying different markets to find the right opportunity to launch our unique solution. Ultimately, we decided on the Philippines for a host of reasons.

Apart from the cost savings, one thing that really stood out to us was that the people were among the most committed we’d seen to helping one another work toward a common goal. But that wasn’t all. Read on for more reasons why the Philippines was chosen as the perfect base for our elite team of Ninjas.

English Proficiency

English is one of three official languages in the Philippines and the country is home to the most proficient English speakers in Asia. Many are surprised to learn that, in 2012, citizens of the Philippines were recognized as having the best Business English skills in the world; besting Australia, the UK, and yes – even the United States*. Combined with having almost no accent, Filipinos are a powerhouse in business process outsourcing.

Educated Workforce

Filipino call center agents are more capable of making independent decisions and going off-script to meet customer needs than any other agents in the world. The vast majority of them – 95% – are college graduates in hard sciences such as nursing, information technology, and engineering. No account is too technical and no task is too difficult when you have that kind of dedication to education working for you.

Westernized Society

One of the most effective ways to learn a language is to seek out and completely immerse yourself in the culture of the people whose language you’re learning. Filipinos don’t have this problem. First, they are already English speakers. However, American pop culture is everywhere in the Philippines as American music, movies, and television shows dominate the airwaves. This leads to zero conversational difficulty.

FACTS ABOUT OUTSOURCING TO THE PHILIPPINES

In 2015, Tholon’s list of 100 top outsourcing destinations included eight Philippine cities. Manila ranked #2 on the list.

In the past decade, the BPO sector in the Philippines has grown at a compound annual rate of around 10%.

The BPO sector is the leading source of private employment in the Philippines, employing over 1 million people. It’s also a major contributor to the country’s extremely low unemployment rate (6%).

The Philippines is second only to China as the fastest growing economy in Asia, with a GDP growth of 6.1% in 2014, and 7.2% in 2013.

The country wants to solidify its position as a leading outsourcing hub, and has been taking steps to revamp the education system and its technical resources.

It is estimated that, by 2016, the Philippine BPO sector will be worth $25 billion.

In 2013, the Philippines beat the US and UK in the Global English Business English Index.

DID YOU KNOW THAT…

English is an official language in the Philippines. Nearly everyone, young and old, urban and rural speak English.

Manila, the capital of the Philippines, is the world’s most densely populated city; it houses over 1.5 million people in a mere 24 square mile area.

Filipinos are very technologically savvy – they send more texts than the US and Europe combined, and spend more time on social network sites than the average person.

Filipinos place a very high value on family, health and happiness. Studies have shown that Filipinos consider themselves the happiest people – compared to people in the West and in other Asian countries.

Over 11 million Filipinos live and work outside of the Philippines.

The Filipino culture represents a large variety influences, including American and European.

* According to the Business English Index (BEI), an annual directory conducted by the Global English Corporation that measures a country’s ability to converse Business English effectively.
